WEBSITE & BRANDING DESIGN

A LITTLE ABOUT ST JOHNS

St Johns Preschool is a not-for-profit Ofsted registered pre-school, founded in 1978. It was established by the congregation at St John’s Church as a way of serving the needs of the local Widnes community. Since that time they have become a local fixture in the Widnes community and have seen literally thousands of children pass through their doors.

Since they are a charity overseen by St Johns Church, they don’t put an emphasis on profits, instead they prioritise Care, Community, Equipment and Quality.

WHAT ST JOHNS NEEDED

Claire from St Johns Preschool contacted Power Media after being recommended by another of our clients. It quickly became apparent that St Johns wasn’t an ordinary Preschool. They are a not for profit charitable organistaion that overseen via a committee whose sole priority is the community, care of the children and overall quality of their service. Although St Johns goal is similar in a lot of ways to a standard profit led business, such as wanting to provide their service to as many children as possible, they are not providing this service for profit, every penny that St Johns Preschool makes is put directly back into the preschool.

This made the project a challenge, since we had to find interesting ways to communicate this message clearly, quickly and without preamble, since it is very important to St Johns to convey this USP to their community. As well as this, there are also a variety of Ofsted requirements that we needed to eave into the fabric of the website all whilst trying to keep the design fresh, clean and interesting.

THE RESULT

The new St Johns Preschool website is now live, it has been indexed to Google and should soon be on the first page off Google in Widnes. The design is fun, interesting and conveys St Johns USP clearly. Here at Power Media we like to go above and beyond for our customers and with this project we feel we did that and then some. We created numerous characters like dinosaurs, and plushies to help communicate certain messages and we even animated a few to keep customers scrolling. Claire the manager of St Johns Preschool couldn’t be happier with their new website design and cannot wait for the local community to view and use it.

Moving forward Power Media not only aim fir first page positions on Google but we also plan to further increase the websites functionality with a calendar of important dates such as field trips, parents/open evenings and term times. It is also going to be a resource for parents to view policy documents and to leave feedback.
